In October's edition of Ales & Tales: Local Stories of Inspiration--an event that gathers the community around a local, inspiring story--we are going to sit down with one of the most passionate and driven community builders I have met in Seattle...Monica Guzman!
"The Evergrey is a digital news publication that helps Seattleites make the most of their city. Our weekday morning newsletter explains how the city is changing, brings together people with different perspectives and highlights communities and fun things to do that will help you live like you live here."
On top co-founding this The Evergrey, Monica has been a vibrant journalist in the Seattle area--working as a columnist for Geekwire, The Seattle Times, Columbia Journalism Review and more, was a 2016 Nieman fellow at the Nieman Foundation for Journalism of Harvard, and has been involved with other local community organizations like Ignite Seattle.
This event is in partnership with 1 Million Cups, an organization based on the notion that entrepreneurs discover solutions and engage with their communities over a million cups of coffee. The Seattle 1MC Community launched just a few months ago and is a free program designed to educate, engage and inspire entrepreneurs at weekly Wednesday morning pitch meetups. Through the power of volunteers, 1 Million Cups has grown to more than 180 communities.
